Annual Irish Festival To Turn Green

Crawley is set to be turned green this month when the 23rd Annual Crawley Irish Festival takes place in the grounds of Hawth Theatre with music, sport and dance from Crawley’s Irish community.

The respected Celtic and Irish Cultural Society present a full afternoon celebrating the contribution of Irish culture and communities in the South East of England and a fun day for all on Sunday, August 26.

Among the headline acts, John McNicholl heads a list of international entertainers and top-billing acts as well as 15 bands in total playing traditional to contemporary to easy listening in three different areas.

The dance area of the festival celebrating traditional Irish dance features always popular The Festival Open Feis, the famous Crawley Ceili and displays from Crawley’s much-loved Irish dance schools.

Children’s entertainment includes games, art workshops, song, storytelling and folklore. There will be a shop selling authentic Irish goods, GAA All Ireland football on a big screen, food and craft stalls.
