Teachers For Dosh
In the autumn, students at Reigate’s Dunottar School enjoyed a lunchtime of splatting their teachers in the face with shaving foam or cream to raise more than £500 for charity.
The messy mayhem saw a total of £517.54 raised for BBC Children in Need, the popular charity funds initiatives to help disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
A random number generator was then used to decide who was splatting whom during the event, an idea of members of the sixth form, and involved pupils donating money towards splatting a brave teacher.
Among the dozen or so teachers from the school to endure a lunchtime slimy splat was Charlie Hammond, pictured below, who is head of Dunottar School’s Sixth Form.
Maths teacher, and head of charity fundraising, LucyAnne Chessell, said: “It’s fantastic that the sixth formers are now organising charity events. A lot of enthusiasm has been shown for this event!”
