The Autumn Show & International Horse Trials
The Autumn Show & International Horse Trials is returning to the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex, next month on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September.
A celebration of rural life, the harvest and canine and equestrian interests, the autumnal event promises an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages – and their four-legged companions – with a captivating lineup of countryside pursuits, displays, and interactive activities throughout the weekend.
A highlight of the show will undoubtedly be the prestigious South of England International CCI*** and CCI** Horse Trials, affiliated with the esteemed Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI). Now in its 16th year, this event attracts top national and international riders who will showcase their skills in showjumping, dressage, and cross-country.
In addition to the thrilling equestrian competitions, visitors can immerse themselves in various activities such as fly fishing, archery, axe throwing, and laser clay shooting. There will also be displays of sheep shearing and birds of prey, a dedicated zone showcasing vintage agricultural vehicles, a Scammell rally, and much more.
As always, this special countryside event will continue to honor the harvest season with competitions and showcases from local Women’s Institutes and the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs, host the South of England Honey Show and traditional horticulture competitions in vegetables, fruits and flowers.
Dog enthusiasts will be thrilled with the many attractions available, including terrier racing, impressive displays by long dogs, rare breed gundogs, and working gundogs. Moreover, dog owners will have the opportunity to participate in scurries with their furry companions.
Children are guaranteed a great time with the activity trail, animal barn featuring farm animals, and a funfair. Attendees can also indulge in delectable food and drink from various stalls and explore fantastic shopping opportunities available throughout the event.
Tickets for the event are available on the official website, www.seas.org.uk, with prices set at £13.05 for adults and £11.25 for senior citizens/students (inclusive of a 10% advance discount until 15.9.23).
