If You Go Down To Maidenbower Park, You’re Sure Of A Big Surprise…
A fun-filled day out awaits residents on July 10 as Maidenbower Park plays host to a community picnic!
So, grab those rugs, hampers and the family and enjoy a day amongst your neighbours – and at the same time you’ll be helping to raise funds for three local causes too!
With a population of more than 8,000, Maidenbower is one of Crawley’s largest neighbourhoods.
This month, all residents (as well as those from further afield!) are invited to pack a picnic and head to the park for a memorable summer’s day out.
The FREE fundraising family event, organised by Maidenbower Park Community Club, is the first of its kind and hopes to bring together residents and raise money through a day of fun, live entertainment and food.
The three Crawley-based charities that will directly benefit from the community picnic are Age UK Crawley, Crawley CVS and Crawley Forget Me Not Club. The day will also feature many other local groups too – an important factor for those involved.
“Whilst working with the community on numerous projects it has become clear that there are lots of amazing non-profit groups and organisations within our community who through no fault of their own do not realise that they could offer support to each other,” Michelle Souter from Maidenbower Park Community Club explains.
“Although Picnic in the Park is about raising much-needed funds for these charities (through running stalls), it is also about a lot more than fundraising. It’s about our community groups coming together and shouting about the work that they do!”
As well as stalls from local organisations, expect to find fairground rides, inflatables, a BBQ, live music from Mike Dobie, Unprovoked, Hustler and much more!
“Picnic in the Park is all about having fun while supporting your local community,” Michelle says. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the community come together!”
Picnic in the Park takes place on Sunday, July 10 between 12.00pm-6.00pm at Maidenbower Park
