Auction Of Hospice Heart Art Raises More Than £50,000
Following last summer’s St Catherine’s Hospice HeART to Heart trail which brought joy to parks, high streets, shopping centres and cultural venues across Surrey and Sussex, the 26 beautiful heart sculptures were sold at auction this autumn with more than £50,000 raised.
More than 100 bidders came together to place a bid on a heart they loved St Catherine’s Hospice which provides end-of-life care and support to terminally ill people and their families across Crawley, Horsham, East Surrey and Mid Sussex to try to make it theirs forever.
Welland Medical was thrilled to win the Bee Kind heart with Chris Primett, managing director saying: “This heart is in special memory of one of our colleagues, who recently lost his fight with cancer, and the years he spent designing products to help improve the lives of others.”
Hannah Liles, St Catherine’s Hospice events manager said: “HeART to Heart has been an incredibly special project for our hospice, and the response from our community has been amazing. People have really supported our hearts and HeART to Heart activities.”
