Belfry Ping Pong Parlour Proves A Real Smash Hit
A free ping pong parlour at The Belfry shopping centre in Redhill has proven to be an instant hit with keen table tennis players of all ages taken part in the fun since the attraction opened in the summer.
The Belfry’s manager, Andy Nash says of the parlour’s impact: “It has created a really vibrant and exciting leisure activity within the centre for people to enjoy playing table tennis with others.”
Table Tennis England’s Colette Gooding and Emma Eaton from Reigate & Banstead Borough Council joined in the fun during the opening week – both are passionate about inspiring people to get active.
The Ping Pong Parlour is a Table Tennis England initiative which turns available shop space, now including Redhill, into a fun, accessible, informal venue for passers-by to play ping pong for free.
Collette Golding, speaking about Redhill’s Ping Pong Parlour, said “It’s brilliant what The Belfry
has created here. I live locally and every time I’ve seen the parlour it’s been really well used!”
