Crawley Town Bowls Club
Established in 1925, Crawley Town is a long-standing community bowls club with one of the best greens in Sussex.
The club prides itself on being a welcoming club, where players of all abilities will find plenty of opportunity to play casually, in friendly and league matches, as well as in competitions.
Unless matches are being played, members can play between 12 noon and dusk on weekdays and between 10am and dusk at weekends, throughout the season (April – September). Monday is ‘Club Night’, between 3pm and dusk, giving members the opportunity to socialise and to play. Everyone is welcome to come along to ‘give it a go’ and see if they would like to become a member.
Besides the fact that bowls is a source of light exercise and gets you out into the fresh air, it can also encourage people who are feeling lonely, isolated, or lacking social interaction and who may want to make new friends. New members of all abilities are welcome and there are plenty of willing club members who can show you the ropes, to build your confidence.
The club also hosts a range of social events such as BBQs, quiz nights, bingo and much more, for everybody to enjoy and get to know each other better. Many friendships have been formed at the club.
It may seem daunting to try something new, with a group you don’t know but if you are at home reading this and would like some social contact with like-minded people or simply to join us for a casual ‘roll-up’, on a Monday afternoon then get in touch with Rod on 01293 538785 for more information.
The club also has an Open Day coming up in May (details below) and would like to invite any and all of you to come down and see if bowls is for you.
