Enjoy The Country Life!
If you love to support businesses in your community and equally have a natter over a cuppa and a delicious slice of cake, why not pop down to the Horley Country Market in the heart of the town?
Horley Country Market is a community enterprise, established more than 40 years-ago. They have a loyal band of customers, yet many people in Horley have still not heard of them. All the products that are on offer at the market are produced locally and are either handmade or home-grown, to the highest quality standards.
The homebaked cakes are a huge hit and always sell out fast, as do the wide range of savoury items such as bread, quiche and sausage rolls, not forgetting an impressive selection of chutneys and jams.
Local growers provide fresh seasonal fruit, vegetables and plants, paired with valued advice. In the hall, there are stalls that showcase the skill of crafters who make homeware items such as peg bags, oven gloves and aprons, cards that are suitable for all occasions, beautiful jewellery, knitted baby toys and the list goes on!
Shopping for delicious homemade goods and treating yourself to that gorgeous necklace you saw can be tiresome, and if you have shopped until you have dropped the café provides a relaxed space for like-minded people of all ages to meet and enjoy a cuppa.
The market is open Fridays 10.00am – 12.00pm with free admission at the St John’s Ambulance Hall on Massetts Road – the venue is wheelchair and pushchair friendly, with disabled facilities available.
This summer, the team at the Horley Country Market will have stalls at the Horley Carnival on June 18 and the Copthorne Carnival on the June 25, so head down and say “hello!”.
