Ghost the Musical Review

Ghost

Last night, Tuesday, 25th February, we visited The Hawth in Crawley to see Ghost the Musical, here is what we thought!

A gorgeous, beautifully recreated take on the classic film from 1990, Ghost the Musical tells the story of Sam and Molly, a couple in love starting life together in New York. When Sam is cruelly murdered at the hands of corrupt business partner Carl Bruner, he needs to somehow protect Molly from danger. He finds himself in a transient state, caught between this world and the next, using an unwilling (and slightly dubious) medium to communicate his messages to Molly!

Rebekah Lowings plays Molly with passion and has a superb voice that brings goosebumps and tears.  Josh St Clair plays Sam with a compelling magnetism and stage presence, and with Jacqui Duboi playing Oda Mae Brown, her genius comedic timing and energy complete the light and shade.

For me, the oh-so-clever staging and effects were the icing on the cake, there were a few moments where I would have liked an action replay….but I’ll have to go and watch it again!

I truly can’t recommend Ghost the Musical highly enough. It’s a treat, and I’ve checked for you; there are still a few tickets available at The Hawth this week if you’re quick!
