Horsham Swimming Group Receives Cash From Sussex Police

Horsham-based Sunbeam, a swimming club for people of all ages with special educational
needs and, or disabilities (SEND) is celebrating after receiving a £500 cheque through the
Police Property Act Fund.

The fund is made up of monies received by the police from the sale of found property, and from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold, known as Police Property Act Fund (PPAF).

Swimming coach at the club, Sarah Burling said: “The money we have received from the police fund will ease the pressure on the committee to raise money to pay for the hire of the pool.’

“The money will also be put towards our first ever swimming gala in 2020, having enjoyed so many galas run by other swimming clubs in Sussex and Surrey, we are looking forward to hosting our own.”

The money was secured by PCSO Laura Webber from the Adur, Worthing and Horsham Prevention Team, who says: “It is a brilliant group who are all very welcoming and I wish them the best for the future in particular for their gala.”
