Redhill’s Year Of Celebrations
Redhill’s Year Of Celebrations
Last year was a special year for Redhill as it celebrated 175 years since the opening of its important transport connection, the town’s train station which opened to rail passengers on April 15, 1844.
As part of the birthday, the town saw a series of special events, in April, there was a big birthday bash held at the train station with guests including Reigate & Banstead Mayor Dorothy Ross Tomlin.
In May there was a public meeting in the Harlequin Theatre for Redhill 175 with tea and cake, before the family-friendly Redhill Summer Festival in June, a community fun day at Redhill’s Memorial Park.
As well as partying, Redhill residents were invited to give 175 minutes of their time by volunteering with Voluntary Action Reigate & Banstead by joining the Great Redhill Litter Pick, and clean-up.
