Raise Awareness, Make a Difference: Supporting the Greenaway Foundation

At RH Uncovered, we’re proud to be partnering with the Greenaway Foundation, a local charity dedicated to supporting struggling families in our community.

As the festive season approaches, the Foundation has set an ambitious goal to raise £125,000 for their 2024 Christmas campaign.

This will enable them to provide and deliver food hampers with all the ingredients needed to prepare a delicious two-course Christmas meal to 1,000 families.

Additionally, they aim to fulfil 4,000 Christmas wishes – gifts up to £25 that children from families in need have specifically requested, ensuring they receive something special this festive season.

Fundraising is crucial to reaching this goal, and that’s where we need you! Whether it’s attending an event, hosting a fundraiser, or simply spreading the word, your involvement can make a big difference. Here’s a look at some exciting local events and inspiring ways to get involved.

Whether you’re an individual, part of a community group or a business owner, there are many ways to support the Greenaway Foundation. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Sponsored Challenges: Turn your teens’ gaming time into a positive by hosting a sponsored gaming challenge. Or, set a fitness goal, such as a half marathon or 5k walk – doing this for charity can help keep you motivated.
  • Event-Based Fundraisers: Bring some festive fun to your Christmas parties or work events with fundraising activities like raffles and auctions. Or make the charity the beneficiary of your Christmas jumper day.
  • Team Efforts: Organise a charity car wash with enthusiastic kids or team up with a local gym for a Zumbathon or other group exercise event.
  • Creative Fundraisers: Know someone brave enough for a sponsored waxing session? How about channelling Mr. Miyagi with a “Wax on, wax off” fundraiser? The possibilities are endless!

Whatever you choose to do, keep us posted at RH Uncovered and we’ll do our best to help promote your fundraiser within the local community.

Community Efforts: Inspiring Stories of Local Support

We’re inspired by the incredible efforts of individuals and businesses who’ve supported the Greenaway Foundation over the past year:

  • East Grinstead Business Association have just held their annual Golf Day at Chartham Park Golf and Country Club, and hopes to exceed the impressive £4,000 raised last year!
  • Julia Searle from WINEntwine Events Ltd hosted a Networking wine-tasting fundraiser, bringing the community together for a night of fun and charity.
  • Oriel High School held a fun run, raising £300 for the Greenaway Foundation as their charity of choice.
  • Local supporter Ellie Jackson first dove into fundraising by taking a Christmas Day sea swim for the Foundation. She later raised £1,500 through a quiz night and now plans to run the Brighton Half Marathon in support of the charity.

Each and every effort, big or small, contributes to the Foundation’s mission and demonstrates the power of community spirit.
