Surrey Charity Doing Its Bit For Good Causes
Surrey Charity Doing Its Bit For Good Causes
Since 2001, St Silvan’s Area Charity has been helping people in need in the Oxted, Hurst Green, Lingfield, Godstone, Edenbridge, Caterham and Blindley Heath area – an area within 10 miles of Staffhurst Wood.
The charity provides families with funding for clothing, food parcels, furniture and household items, as well as helping schools – it donated money to help a chat and chill zone at Hurst Green Infants School.
As part of the charity’s appeal at Easter last year it funded the gift of two rabbits to St Stephen’s School in South Godstone, the purchase of the bunnies was funded by Easter egg trails and family activities.
The animals were chosen for the school’s unit for visually-impaired children and others with special needs – it is hoped that the rabbits will be a calming influence and help children learn responsibility.
Earlier this year the group organised a curry and quiz night held at Holland Sports and Social
Club in Oxted which raised more than £750 for the charity to help more people in need of its help.
